New house updates....which are now old updates!

Sorry for the delay in updating house pictures....its been a little busy around here. Carpets should be getting installed today, so we will have more pictures to post later. For now, we have pictures of the new sink in the kitchen, shower doors in both bathrooms, mirrors and the finished counters in the kitchen. Things are coming along and we are still told that we should be closing on May 1. I don't know though, it seems like they still have a lot of work to get done before then. The outside paint still needs to be done, the driveway needs to be paved, the pellet stove needs to be installed, the kitchen appliances need to be installed, the property needs to be graded, the house needs to inspected by VA and we need to do a walk through where we point out the problems that we see (we are already starting a list of things that need to be fixed) and they need to have it all fixed before we sign papers. They need to hurry up if they expect us to sign the papers May 1.

Kitchen and part of the dining room. Counters are done and sink is installed.
The cupboards aren't covered in plastic anymore...we are outdated already.
Here is our new sink....we picked it out and told them to order it. Apparently they were having a hard time finding a stainless steel sink in their price range.....I found one in about 10 minutes at homedepot.com.
Nice faucet...it has the pull-out handle.
Shower doors in the guest bathroom.
Shower door in the master bathroom....they must have dropped it on the shower when installing because there is a chip out of the fiberglass shower on the outside (part of our list that needs to be fixed).
Big mirror in the master bathroom and faucets installed.
And this is the meadow near where we live that we will be taking our walks in...not a bad view either.

Baby Herrbach picture

Here is our first picture of baby Herrbach, well that you can actually see something!! When we got the ultrasound we could see our baby kicking and wiggling and moving its arms around so fast! It was so neat to see our baby move so much. This is actually a bad picture compared to how much we saw. We could see the arms and legs and the little fingers while it moved and kicked. I think the doctor clicked the freeze button just a little too late. In this picture you can see the head and body with a little fist just above the belly and a little knee or foot moving around just to the right of the body. Chris and I were so excited to get to see our little one moving all around today!!

Baby Herrbach at 11 weeks and 3 days. Kicking up a storm!
We weren't even supposed to have a picture taken today, but the doctor was having a hard time finding the heart beat. It turns out that the baby is higher than he expected right now and was looking in the wrong spot. Which I am happy about because we got a nice picture out of it. Today I had to go in for an appointment to test my sugar levels in my urine because they were too high last week. Well...I failed the test again this week and need to go in for an hour long glucose test, probably tomorrow, to see if I could possibly get gestational diabetes. I'm not worried about it though. They also tested my blood today with a finger prick test and my blood sugar levels are very normal. So I guess we'll wait and see what they say after I fast and take the glucose test tomorrow morning.

Anyhow, I felt like it was a very good appointment and am starting to feel a lot better. My energy is starting to come back more and the nausea is not as strong as it was. I still avoid certain foods though. I am so thankful for how well the pregnancy is going and for having such a wonderful husband that has gone with me to all my appointments so far. We are so blessed. I will keep you posted on any new developments. After the glucose test tomorrow, my next appointment is not until April 16th.

House paint and counters

Recently our house has received inside paint and counter tops in the bathrooms and somewhat in the kitchen. They are still installing the kitchen counters. We chose charcoal cultured marble tops for the bathrooms and the kitchen has formica tops called butter rum granite. Once the flooring is in (which we are told should be in the next few weeks) the charcoal in the bathroom tops will look very nice with the tile floors that also have flakes of black and gray mixed with browns and creams. We think it will all be pulled together very nicely.

The walls are two neutral shades, navajo white and antique white for the trim. It gives it a nice warm feel to the house. It is already starting to feel more like our house.

Master bed/bath arch.
Guest bedroom closet door showing contrast of trim and wall paint.

The following pictures were taken before the paint job, but I have been slacking on posting pictures of the house. Been a little tired and preoccupied with other things lately.

Another new addition to the house is the front railing on the porch.

Close-up of the counter/sinks in the master bathroom.
Kitchen counters, not really installed yet but sitting in place waiting to be attached. Formica called Butter Rum Granite.
Another kitchen counter shot. Still need to cut out the spot for the kitchen sink, which is on order right now. It has one large basin and one small basin, stainless steel of course.

Just a small update

On Thursday Feb. 12 Chris and I were able to see our TINY little baby on an ultra sound monitor (well Chris was able to see the screen better then I could) and we saw the flickering of one TINY little heart beating. Since our baby is so TINY the doctor told us that the due date would be changed from September 15 to October 5. On thursday our little one was 0.61 cm long, so tomorrow we are actually at the 7 week mark now that the doctor did some measurements. He says everything looks great and the next appointments are mainly for measuring my belly and doing sonograms of the baby. Next appointment is March 12. We do have a picture of our baby but I am not posting it cause I can hardly even see it on the print out. When we get a better one in the future we will definitly post it for all to see.

Baby Herrbach...coming September 15th 2009!!

Well most of you have been told over the phone or in person that Chris and I are expecting our 1st baby September 15th! I have my 1st full blown OB appointment Feb. 12 where we are hoping to be able to hear the baby's heart beat (or so says the nurse) and maybe have a picture to post. Probably will look more like a little blob then a baby, but its our little blob and we are so excited!!!

People keep asking if we are going to find out if it is a boy or girl....and yes we are. Neither one of us wants to wait to find out. We just don't have that kind of patience for a surprise like that!! I would like to know NOW if that was possible! :)

We have a lot to look forward to this year... moving in to our new house in May (which I won't be able to help much with), both our dads are saying they will be up to visit us, a big baby shower BBQ in August, the birth of our baby in September (hopefully my mom, step-dad and sister can make it around that time :) ) and then a trip in December to Tucson for Christmas where the rest of my side of the family will be able to meet baby Herrbach!

We are so excited to see the blessings that God has given us and that are to come this year! We are truly grateful for everything and everyone in our lives. We couldn't ask for much more. Thank you to everyone for your congratulations and well wishes for our pregnancy!

I will post more updates of Baby Herrbach when we get them. For now it is just a little nausea and anticipation for whats to come. Ha!!

Cabinets

The cabinets have been installed. They are a beautiful natural hickory with arched upper cabinets. I love the calico wood color through out it. Next is for the doors to be framed and hung up in the house. The doors are already in the house laying all over the place.

This is our beautiful kitchen with center island. Counter tops will come later.

Center island looking towards dining area.
Kitchen looking at where the dishwasher will go. I already have material picked out to make some decorative curtains for this window, blue and white check with little yellow sunflowers all over it. It will be very pretty.
Here is our laundry room. The guest bathroom sink area.
Chris showing how tiny our linen closet is.
The master bath cabinets.
The master bath will have double sinks.
Here are our interior doors that are supposed to be hung this next week.
The doors have decorative arches at the top that match the arches on our upper cabinet doors.

Texture

The walls in our house have been textured and the electrician is starting to install some lights in the garage. We also have garage doors now. This last week we drove to Sparks, NV to pick out all of our flooring. I think they said that this next week they would be doing framing to hang the inside doors. We still need to meet with the cabinet guy and go over the drawings he did, but they are looking very good already.

Chris and the 2 electricians in the kitchen. They are moving the outlet for the microwave down about a foot. We are getting a hanging micro.
This is where the pellet stove is going to be.
Master bath arch way. We are going to probably put folding doors there.
Our new garage doors are finally installed.
